Although I was trained in very traditional forms of acting, playwriting, and directing, for the last decade I have been focusing on collectively creating devised works of theatre. This style of making theatre really emphasizes what I’ve always liked best about working on plays: the aspect of community that forms around every show.
Including the annual plays I’ve created with high school students for the Kanto Plains Association of Secondary Schools’ drama festival for the last dozen years, I’ve been part of creating more than 25 pieces for public performance. I’ve worked with both professional and amateur performers, on long time scales (6 months) and short time scales (3 hours).
If you need a person to helm a collective theatre project, you should probably choose me.
