Yamanashi Trip – Day 4

Homeward bound: Day 4 found us just tooling around Kofu City again before taking the train back to Yokohama. I convinced Hammy to do some playing on the Showa-era concrete playground near the hostel we stayed in so I could get some photos of it with a kid in it. I’d love to tool around the country sometime and photograph these idiosyncratic play structures before they’re all replaced with pre-fabricated drop-in play gear. Just add it to the list of things that I’d do if I could paid for being a full-time artist.

I convinced the family to walk through the Maizuru Castle Park that we walked around on the first day. As a reconstruction / museum it’s ho-hum, but the views of the city were worth the climb to the top. There’s one shot you can see where it looks like the clouds are boiling off the mountains that surround Kofu. Love it!

After eating once more at Portlandia, we headed home. The last shot is the family walking ahead of me in the final stretch back to the house.
