In this update, hot on the heels of my update looking forward at the whole of 2025, I get right down into the nitty gritty a lot of the things I talked about in that.
YTG
- INTERFERENCE
- We started rehearsals on Tuesday
- Already some friction because the two originators have very strong views
- We had a discussion that everyone in the room is an artist and this is collaborative
- A bunch of people had to leave early on Wednesday, so we stopped working at 14:00
- New semi-member Anna was there and took photos, which I hope I’ll be able to drop on you soon
- We may start moving pieces of art into JDS as early as this coming Tuesday
- ANXIETY
- I had hoped that Tania Coke from tarinainanika would join me in directing this
- Timing didn’t work out
- She or partner Ken will teach a workshop
- I made a feasibility budget, and it looks decent
- People can get honorariums and there’s enough left over to help defer operating expenses
- Need to contact Davion to talk about dates
- He wants a full-time rehearsal schedule
- JDS can’t accommodate that
- Am trying to book Steep Slope Studio in the Hinodecho area
- SO CLOSE to putting ink on this contract
- I had hoped that Tania Coke from tarinainanika would join me in directing this
- GENERAL
- Showdates for both shows are set
- Spring (INTERFERENCE showcase): April 5/6
- Summer (Double Bill) July 26/27
- Aug 2/3 wasn’t available
- JDS’s owner and our primary contact at our venue, Noriko, is in the hospital
- Back surgery
- She is currently recovering
- They are going to need my help for an event in March, right before our show
