YTG Updates:
Jekyll and Hyde Mainstage
- Two rehearsals since last update
- I got sick from whatever Hammy had, so I missed Thursday’s rehearsal because I took him to the doctor and then was feeling too crap to even attend the rehearsal on Zoom.
- The group came to an agreement on the central theme of “revolution”
- On Monday, Mike had everyone vote on story structure, which, even at four weeks out from the show
- Group voted on “montage” (except me)
- Spent the afternoon working on scenes that I’d brought in
- I love working with Mike: we have very different sensibilities and preference
- Wednesday, we had a morning meeting at Kawasaki Starbucks
- Discussed the assignment of roles
- I have delegated a bunch of the stage manager and box office roles to other members in the group
- I suggested that to give the show more focus I be the world builder (based on the three worlds we’ve previously created on the technical days)
- Adrianna wanted to borrow a guitar so she came back with me after the meeting
- Needed to talk to her anyway because of the Art Present assignment
- Got my own guitar out for the first time in ages and WOW, have really lost a lot of that guitar playing muscle memory
- I need time to practice
- Found a new ticketing provider!
- Seemed perfect!
- They have a problem with their yen transactions
- Service fees are calculated incorrectly
- They are taking forever to fix it
- Going into the theatre today (in the future as of this recording, probably in the past as you listen to this)
- Giving up our Thursday rehearsal to do a clean u[
- Building owners pulling back from “big clean up” to “little clean up”, which is depressing
- At least we’ll organize cables, adapters, tools, and booth
