YTG

  • We’re into week two of rehearsals
  • More people have joined us! This week we added Anna (who also left this week) and Claire
  • I’m having some trouble slotting Claire in because she’s much more focused on the management side. But we’ll figure it out
  • Monique, the movement instructor was away this week so
    • Monday: Clara ran the rehearsal and then we did some devising and playing with scenes in the afternoon
    • We realized doing this that a lot of the group members don’t have experience doing non-literal work and go into pantomime when not allowed to speak
    • Flavia worked through some of the ideas she’d come up with back in the winter
    • I did a lot of dying
  • Wednesday AM we went to the YTG storage container so I could make sure everyone knows where it is
    • Clara and Flavia got excited about organizing it, so it looks like that is going to happen this summer, too
      • I’m so happy
  • We got back to the space and set up our “safe word” for the summer (Bungalow)
  • We worked on some more ideas in the afternoon, mostly centered around archetypal family relationships

NERD NITE

  • Nerd Nite is next Friday. Let me know if you need a free ticket
  • In July, we try a new venue
    • First time back in Tokyo since the pandemic
  • I really want to ditch our current ticket provider (too expensive) and self-host

AUDIO PROJECTS

  • FINALLY, Anna Murray and I coordinated and were able to meet yesterday
    • Review: Anna is the incredible sound designer and composer who worked on the first two pandemic shows
    • We caught up and I was able to talk to her about the “Yesterday” project
    • So, we now have a sound designer for that; I have one possible cast member
    • Things are moving slowly forward

PHOTOGRAPHY

  • No major photography updates this week
  • Was planning to attend an online seminar last night about how to sell photos. It was mostly a bait-and-switch, but there are a couple of things I may be able to apply to my work (and the few landscape style photos I have online)

BE THE AUDIENCE – https://awoolner.com/be-the-audience

  • Still in soft-launch
  • I am going to have to go to people one-by-one
  • Thinking about making the mailing list the port of call and work from there
