- We’ve wrapped up week three of rehearsals for “Oblique”
- It was good to have her back this week for two intense movement sessions but Wednesday was Monique’s last day
- We worked on Laban movement stuff
- It’s a way of breaking down human movement into categories
- I’m actually fairly skeptical about these things when they seem to make truth claims
- But it works as a metaphor that aids in character creation
- We also played around with thematic ideas again
- We created environments that were Oblique
- Lifeboat, pillow fort, that kind of thing
- We never got to submarine, which is the one I really wanted to do
- Sahana brought in an idea about four versions of how incoming cultures interact with host cultures and we explored that using Laban
- Assimilation, Separation, Integration, and Marginalization (Marginalization is the one I forgot in the recording)
- We created environments that were Oblique
- Two of my favourite people (Amie and Rachel, both visiting from England) came to rehearsal this week
- Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
- Next week we really have to get going
- The core group is meeting this weekend to come up with ideas to bring in on Monday
- Wish I could join, but I love the fact that they’re getting on this
