Antigone was a collectively created play based on the 2400 year-old play of the same name by Sophocles. I guided Juri Ito, a new director and originator of the project, and a team of mostly emerging theatre artists through the complete rehearsal process. Aside from providing production support, my main roles were to encourage dialogue between the ensemble members, help mold good ideas into workable theatre scenes, and make sure that the piece we produced at the end represented everyone involved in its creation.

Having said that, I think that my biggest contribution was forging the team the created the show over a five-month rehearsal period and through quite a few member changes (as happens when you are working with interns on limited periods of stay in Japan).
