Monique returned this week and the group dived into Contact Improv. If you don’t know what that is, I guess a brief description would be improvised movement with one or more people while you share a point of contact. It’s very hard to do well.
The last time I did Contact Improv was with the Outliers ensemble back in 2017. It’s a great way to bring an ensemble together and I wish we could do it every year, but you really need someone qualified to lead it.
The group is starting to gel (although we’ll start saying goodbye to a few people in two weeks or so, and hello to new faces). We haven’t created much content yet as we concentrate on becoming an ensemble, but that’s exactly where we should be at this stage.
The show is going up August 17 and 18 both in-person and live on the internet (with recordings available for those who can’t watch it live). No showtimes are set yet, since this is a collectively created piece and we have no idea what the running time will be yet. However, if you want tickets, there are a few ways to make sure you get them.
